PastBook for iPhone launches today – photo albums with friends on the go

The company introduces its iPhone app allowing users to privately collect photos with friends from anywhere and create, share and print photo albums in seconds.

Summary
PastBook launches today its iPhone app, enabling users to privately collect, save, and revive memories from their social networks and friends on the go. Each photo album (called “PastBook”) will be available online, through the app or on any browser, offline as an e-book or as a keepsake printed book, shipped worldwide for free. Users will be able to create personal and collaborative photo-books in a matter of seconds: photos can be added in a snap from the camera roll and Facebook, and relatives and friends can get invited to add their ones (with or without the app). More social networks are integrated in the web version and will be available in the app soon.

The company has launched today its first iOS app, giving users the ability to collect, save and enjoy photographic memories with their friends and relatives in a snap. Every photo album created is a “PastBook” and can be accessed from any device and at anytime, on-line and off-line.

After the successful launch of the “Collaborative photo-book” web platform, last November – with the focus on solving the fragmentation of memories between people – PastBook decided to create an even simpler and more powerful mobile tool to enable users to do that on the go, allowing them to save and collect worthy images anytime, from everyone and in one place. And while the web version is mobile friendly (responsive) and accessible through all mobile devices, PastBook wanted to provide a native and tailor-made experience to facilitate the collaboration between people, allowing them to take and upload photos on the go.

With the PastBook app users can create an album in a snap, adding photos from their camera roll and Facebook library. (Instagram, Flickr, Picasa, Google Drive, Dropbox, Gmail, SkyDrive, Evernote, Box and more sources are available on the web-version and will be integrated on the app in the coming releases).

Users can then invite relatives and friends to add photos to their album as well, by sending a private link via text message, email, twitter or Facebook or simply by showing a unique QR-code that can be scanned directly through the app.

All the photos collected are immediately available on mobile and web and can be turned into beautifully designed photo albums in one tap. These can be ordered for print or downloaded as an e-book for free.

The app can be used for all sorts of life events and occasions; photo albums can be created on the go for weddings, parties, concerts, corporate events and other social happenings where all the guests can easily upload their photos before, during and after the event to eventually provide their own perspective of it. The app also works perfectly to create a photo album as birthday gift, as a souvenir for a holiday trip or as a school yearbook where friends can team up to collect their photos and have a keepsake present. Besides, the app can also be used to commemorate the life of a lost one by letting people recollect photos to create an on-line tribute and memorial book.

The app is also available as one of the business solutions that PastBook offers to companies in white-labels.

“We have been experimenting with different ways of approaching new users and exploring means for everyone to collect memories from photos shared or saved on-line,” notes Stefano Cutello, CEO of PastBook. “The success of the web solution we launched in November validated this direction. The app we’re releasing today, hooks directly into that unique proposition: to privately collect life's moments on the go, from every perspective, connecting all the tools people are already using to save their own photos – to create a shared experience that can last forever, privately, on-line and off-line.”
